Dr. Tan has been actively involved in the construction industry more than 25 years and has been engaged as Industry advisory expert, concrete technology consultant and expert witness in a few high profile & reputable projects in the Asia Region. His expertise and areas of interest are consultancy, certification and technical training services in relation to the Civil Engineering particularly in the Forensic Engineering, Building Appraisal, Expert Witness in Arbitration & Court, Concrete Consulting, Construction Consulting, Technical Training & Etc. His wide range of knowledge and hands on industry experience include producing the Fresh & Hardened Concrete, High Strength Concrete, High Performance Concrete, Special High-End Concrete, Segmental Box & Tunnel Precast Concrete, Pier Pillar Concrete, Self-Compacting Concrete and Fiber Reinforced Concrete. He has resolved numerous dispute cases on old and new Building Cracks, Infrastructure Cracks with professional engineering judgement & solutions.

He has successfully resolved challenging consultancies task particularly for mega projects in our construction industry such as Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Tun Razak Exchange 106, Four Seasons Place, PJ Sentral, Tianjin 117, Merdeka 118 and other superior high-end concrete related projects. He has been involved his business spans across Asia, including Malaysia, Singapore and China. He has academically completed a collaboration project with University of Michigan, United States and obtained his Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) academic qualification from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2003.

He is a Registered Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate (PEPC) from Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). A fellow member of The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (FIEM), a Council Member of IEM for the term of 2007-2010, 2011-2014, 2016-2019 & current term. A Certified QMS Auditor/Lead Auditor ISO9001 and an International Register Certificated Auditors (IRCA) United Kingdom. A Member of Association Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM), a Member of ASEAN Engineers Registrar (AER) and Associate Fellow of ASEAN Academy Engineering & Technology (AAET). He is a Committee Member in Malaysia STANDARD (MS) and Concrete & Concrete Products Technical Committee of SIRIM. a member of Singapore Signatories Approval SAC- SINGLAS in Civil Engineering i.e. Hardened Concrete, Fresh Concrete & Cement. He has been publishing international papers in related to Concrete Technology and Industrial Housing System. Lastly, he is a Certified Trainer with Train-The-Trainer (TTT) Certificate by Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDCorp) to facilitate the technical training with the aim to enhance the current construction industry standard objectively.
